Aniimo supports cross-play across PC, consoles and mobile, and it carries your progress between those devices when you sign in to the same developer account. That part is generous. The regional server system is not. Progress is bound to the server you pick, and nothing moves between regions.

So the useful order of operations is backwards from what most people do. Sort out the server with your friends first. Worry about which device you are playing on second, because that one mostly sorts itself out.

Your platform does not decide who you can play with

Aniimo supports cross-platform play across PC, console and mobile. In practice that means PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and mobile devices all sit in the same multiplayer pool, and cross-platform co-op is listed for the Xbox version specifically.

So a friend on PlayStation 5 and a friend on Xbox can play together. So can someone on a phone and someone on a desktop. There is no separate mobile pool to worry about.

One caveat worth checking before you plan a session: online console multiplayer may require a paid platform subscription. That is a platform charge on top of the game, and it applies to console players rather than everyone in the party.

One account, many devices

Aniimo supports full cross-save and cross-platform progression. Log into the same developer account and your progress carries over across PC, consoles and mobile devices, which is what makes playing on your phone at lunch and your PC in the evening a single continuous save rather than two separate ones.

One detail is not settled yet. Cross-save on PlayStation 5 is not explicitly confirmed on the official page, so if your PS5 is the device you care about most, treat it as the one to verify rather than assume. The developer's own launch account FAQ is where the cross-progression and account linking details are spelled out.

Account linking also affects what you own. Pre-order bundles bought on both PlayStation and Xbox can be claimed on the same account, provided those platforms are linked to the same server. Once claimed, bundle items and accessories from Xbox and PlayStation can be shared across the linked platforms on that same server region. Note what that condition keeps coming back to. The sharing is not really about the platforms. It is about the server.

Pick your server before anything else

Aniimo runs on separate regional servers, and they are region locked. There are three: America, Europe and APAC. If you want to play with someone, you both have to be on the same one. There is no workaround and no cross-region matchmaking.

Server selection is one of the first decisions the game asks you to make, and character creation begins immediately afterwards. You do not get a long runway to think about it, and you are not choosing a lobby you can hop out of later without consequences.

This is the conversation to have in your group chat before anyone launches the game. A group that scatters across America, Europe and APAC on day one has three separate games running, not one.

Progress belongs to the server, not to you

Progression, game data and characters are tied to each server and cannot be transferred between regional servers. Progress carries over only between accounts linked on the same server. Start on a new server and you start from the beginning.

That is worth reading twice, because the cross-platform progression described earlier can make it sound like your account travels with you everywhere. It travels across devices. It does not travel across regions.

The consolation is that switching is not destructive. Your progress on your original regional server is retained when you switch, so you can hold separate characters on multiple servers at the same time without deleting anything, and you can switch back to your previous region whenever you want. What you cannot do is merge them. Two characters on two servers stay two characters, each with its own progress, its own items and its own set of people to trade with.

Before anyone buys or installs, agree on a server. Cross-play and cross-save handle the platform side for you, but the server choice is the one decision that locks in who you can trade and play with, and it is not undone by switching later.
